General’s Sketch & Wash Water-Soluble Graphite Pencil #588

Sketch & Wash Water-Soluble Graphite Pencil

Explore the versatility of drawing and watercolour techniques with the General’s Sketch & Wash Water-Soluble Graphite Pencil #588. This innovative pencil delivers the familiar control of traditional graphite when used dry and transforms into smooth, paint-like washes when activated with water. Ideal for sketching, illustration, urban sketching and mixed media artwork, it allows artists to create everything from bold, expressive marks to delicate shading and rich tonal effects.

Key Features

• Water-Soluble Graphite: Works like a traditional graphite pencil when dry and transforms into fluid washes when activated with water.
• Smooth Wash Effects: Dissolves completely when worked with a wet brush, allowing graphite to blend and spread like watercolour paint.
• Versatile Tonal Range: Creates deep, dark marks, subtle shading and smooth tonal transitions.
• Drawing and Painting in One: Combines the precision of pencil drawing with the expressive possibilities of watercolour techniques.
• Excellent Blending: Easily soften, spread and blend graphite to achieve a variety of artistic effects.
• Colour-Friendly Application: Water helps bind graphite to the paper surface, allowing colour to be layered over graphite while maintaining colour purity.
• Wide Range of Applications: Ideal for sketching, illustration, fine art, urban sketching and mixed media projects.
• Premium Incense Cedar Wood: Provides durability and easy sharpening.
• Made in the USA: Crafted to high-quality standards.
